Inbox placement
DefinitionInbox placement is the share of delivered email that reaches the recipient's inbox rather than the spam or junk folder.
Inbox placement differs from delivery rate. A message can be accepted by the receiving server (delivered) and still be filtered into spam. Placement measures where it actually ended up.
Placement is usually measured with seed mailboxes at each provider, because providers don't report it to senders directly.
