Email warm-up

DefinitionEmail warm-up is the gradual build-up of a new or unused mailbox's sending reputation, by sending a small, slowly increasing daily volume of email that recipients open, reply to and move out of spam.

A typical warm-up starts at 2-5 emails a day and grows to 30-50 over two to four weeks. Warm-up services run this through a network of mailboxes that exchange realistic conversations and react to them on human timings.

Warm-up builds the history and engagement signals providers use to judge a sender. It cannot fix missing authentication: SPF, DKIM and DMARC have to be in place first.
