IMAP access left off
External apps can't connect until POP3/IMAP access is enabled in the mailbox settings.
Warm-up by provider
Short answerTo warm up a GMX or WEB.DE mailbox, enable POP3/IMAP access in the mailbox settings, connect over IMAP and SMTP, and ramp slowly from 2-3 to about 30 emails a day. Neither provider publishes fixed sending limits, so steady, low volumes are the safe choice.
Step by step
Connection method: IMAP/SMTP.
In GMX or WEB.DE settings, turn on POP3/IMAP access for the mailbox.
In RoxInbox, choose Add mailbox, then GMX / WEB.DE, and enter the address and password.
RoxInbox confirms access and starts the ramp.
Sending limits 2026
These are mainly consumer mail services. For outreach, GMX and WEB.DE matter most as recipient providers: build reputation with them, and test placement there.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Daily sending limit | Not published by GMX or WEB.DE as of the date checked |
| External access | POP3/IMAP access must be switched on in the mailbox settings |

Pitfalls
External apps can't connect until POP3/IMAP access is enabled in the mailbox settings.
GMX and WEB.DE are widely used in German-speaking countries. A network without them can't build reputation there.
Fast, repeated sending from a consumer mailbox looks like spam. Keep volumes personal-scale.
FAQ
Neither publishes a fixed number. Keep volumes low and steady, and slow down if a message is rejected.
They keep their own reputation for your domain. If your warm-up network has no GMX or WEB.DE mailboxes, reputation never builds there. RoxInbox includes both.
